SBI Holdings, a notable financial services company based in Tokyo, Japan, has recently joined forces with Ripple to introduce an NFT minting service on the XRP Ledger for the upcoming World Expo 2025. This partnership aims to leverage blockchain technology to enhance the digital experience for Expo attendees.
The initiative is part of the larger ‘EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet’ project, which includes a digital wallet app service connected to the Expo. The service, named “Myaku N!”, will be accessible through the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet, available at the Expo in Osaka/Kansai. Users can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to receive complimentary NFTs.
A unique aspect of this initiative is the exclusivity it offers, limiting the NFT minting service to 500 users. SBI Holdings will mint 920 XRPL-based NFTs for the World Expo 2025, providing attendees with one-of-a-kind digital collectibles. These NFTs can be earned by engaging in Expo activities both in the physical and online realms through the ‘MyakuMyaku Reward Program’.
The NFTs are accessible through MYAKU-N! digital wallets but are commemorative and non-transferable. Participants can enhance their experience by utilizing ‘Myakupe!’ — the Expo’s electronic money — and participating in various event interactions. The service, commencing on July 1, allows users to collect original NFTs from the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet.
Users can view their NFTs in real-time using the NFT explorer Bithomp, but these digital collectibles will no longer be visible after October 13, 2025, when the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet ceases operation. To further engage users and incentivize participation, the initiative includes additional benefits, lucky draws, and prizes through the ‘Myakumyakupon!’ gift campaign.
The SBI Group’s emphasis on XRP and NFTs signifies the transformative potential of these crypto-related technologies in the industry. By collaborating with Ripple, SBI has paved the way for innovative applications of digital assets and showcased the use of blockchain technology in mainstream events like the World Expo 2025.
